Dr David Robert Grimes contributes to publications including the Guardian, Scientific American, The New York Times, the Atlantic, the Financial Times, and many others on issues of health and society. He specialises in public understanding of medical science, appearing regularly on television and radio on networks worldwide including BBC, PBS, RTE, and ABC. David's work focuses on the problems of disinformation and how we can protect ourselves with critical thinking, working closely with policy makers and the public in Europe and America. He gives keynote talks for both expert and popular audiences worldwide, appearing with luminaries from Richard Dawkins to Neil DeGrasse Tyson and Tim Minchin. His debut book, “The Irrational Ape - why we fall for disinformation, conspiracy theory, and propaganda" (Simon & Schuster), was an Irish Times bestseller, and has been translated into 8 languages. David is a fellow of the Royal Statistical Society, based at the Trinity College Dublin School of Medicine.
