In addition to his medical degree, Professor Kelly (MB BCh BAO), has masters degrees in epidemiology (MSc), healthcare management (MA) and Buddhist studies (MA); and doctorates in medicine (MD), history (PhD), governance (DGov) and law (PhD).
He is an esteemed public speaker has authored and co-authored over 300 publications in peer-reviewed journals, over 700 non-peer-reviewed publications, 26 book chapters and book contributions, and 20 books (including 13 as sole author).
His recent books include ‘Resilience: Lessons from Sir William Wilde on Life After Covid’ (2023), ‘Asylum: Inside Grangegorman’ (2023), and ‘The Modern Psychiatrist’s Guide to Contemporary Practice: Discussion, Dissent, and Debate in Mental Health Care’ (2024).
