Catherine worked for five years with PayPal up to October 2023, initially as Internal Communications Manager and Business Operations Engagement Manager and, most recently, as Sales Trainer where she delivered her unique Pitch Workshop for PayPal’s Sales, Services and Technical Teams globally and helped them to ‘move the needle’ on their interactions with Merchants/Sellers. Catherine also delivered her Pitch Workshop for senior leadership offsites globally in PayPal up to CFO level.


Prior to joining PayPal, Catherine worked as a communications consultant with senior leaders and corporate groups within a wide range of industry sectors and helped them to tell their unique story - including Allied Irish Bank, Bank of Ireland, Fidelity Investments, Medtronic, Intel, Sustainable Energy Association Ireland (SEAI), Kerry Group, Electricity Supply Board (ESB), National Treasury Management Association
and AbbVie.


Catherine has coached entrepreneurs and graduates on many of Ireland’s established start-up and accelerator programmes, such as Enterprise Ireland ‘Access Silicon Valley’ and ‘SPRINT’ Programmes as well as New Frontiers. Catherine worked as a Pitch Coach for the European Innovation Academy in Nice and Turin and the Business Hive in Grimsby, UK. She is currently registered as a Pitch Coach for White Castle Partners in Monaco. Following her master’s in journalism from Dublin City University in 2008, Catherine worked as a freelance broadcaster and journalist. Catherine has contributed to the Irish Independent, Irish Times, Sunday Independent, Irish Daily Mail, Irish Examiner, Newstalk, Today FM, Kildare FM, LMFM, Dublin City FM and BBC Radio Humberside. She has also carried out research for RTÉ television’s political and business series ‘Prime Time’.


Prior to setting up her own business, Communication Matters, Catherine was a manager with Compaq Computers, a French and German secondary school teacher and she also worked as Cabin Crew with Aer Lingus while in university. In addition to her master’s, Catherine holds a BA (Hons) in French and German Interpreting and Translating from Dublin City University and a Higher Diploma in Education from Trinity College, Dublin. Catherine also holds a Teaching Diploma in Speech and Drama from London College.

Communications expert and author of The Pitch Coach (Liberties Press, 2016), Catherine is Pitch Coach on the Irish Television series ‘Dragons’ Den’, where she successfully coached over 500 contestants for all the series to date and helped them to secure over €5 million investment.
