Kate also possesses considerable expertise in the area of athlete career and lifestyle management. Through her current work as a personal development consultant for the Gaelic Player’s Association and in her previous position at Rugby Player’s Ireland, she has supported the dual careers of many high-performance athletes and helped them through their transition out of elite sport and into the next phase of their working lives.
Kate has featured regularly in Irish print and broadcast media, speaking generally about her experiences in high performance sport and specifically, her role in assisting Annalise Murphy to her silver medal success at the Rio Olympics.
She has a lot of experience in the corporate sector also, having collaborated with companies such as Deloitte, BNY Mellon and Irish Life Health. Her presentations at large-scale events such as Wellfest, Generation X and Huddle Dublin conferences have been very well received.
Throughout her career, Kate has been invited to speak at sport psychology and sport science conferences worldwide, including North America, Africa and around Europe. She also has many years of lecturing experience in third level institutions throughout Ireland.
Originally from Clonakilty, Co. Cork, Kate now lives in Dublin with her husband and 2 young children. In her free time she enjoys playing tennis, running and reading.
